India Crush West Indies by 7 Wickets to Seal 2–0 Series Sweep; Gill, Jaiswal and Jadeja Shine in Dominant Show

India wrapped up a dominant 2–0 Test series sweep over the West Indies with a commanding seven-wicket victory in the second Test at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. The win extended India’s unbeaten home streak and further solidified their position in the World Test Championship standings.

Set a modest target of 121, India comfortably chased it down in just 35.2 overs, led by KL Rahul’s unbeaten 58 and solid contributions from Shubman Gill (38) and Rohit Sharma (22). The series was marked by India’s balance of youth and experience, showcasing the team’s depth ahead of upcoming overseas tours.

Earlier in the match, India had declared their first innings at 518/5, powered by a masterful 129 not out by Shubman Gill and a blistering 175 from Yashasvi Jaiswal, who continued his golden run of form. The duo’s partnership, alongside contributions from Ravindra Jadeja (73), put India firmly in control.

On the bowling front, Jasprit Bumrah’s reverse swing and Ravindra Jadeja’s spin dismantled the West Indies batting lineup, restricting them to 140/4 in the first innings and forcing a collapse in the second. Despite resistance from Kraigg Brathwaite (67) and Alick Athanaze (52), the visitors never truly recovered from India’s relentless pressure.

Following the clean sweep, head coach Gautam Gambhir hailed Gill’s leadership and tactical maturity, saying he has “passed his toughest test” as captain since the England series. The win marks another high point for India’s evolving Test side, blending fresh energy with proven experience — and sending a clear signal of intent for the coming international season.
