Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has now launched a direct attack on the Election Commission and the opposition BJP from the Dharmatala stage. The Trinamool leader has hit out at the Centre and the Commission, raising serious allegations of widespread rigging in the voter list. She has become quite vocal today on the allegation of living people being shown as dead in the voter list.


Cannon calling it a ‘broker commission’

The elections are coming up, and before that, Mamata Banerjee has raised the tone against the BJP from the Dharmatala meeting today by using political rhetoric. Directly questioning the impartiality of the Election Commission, the Chief Minister said, “The shameless and brazen BJP party. And its broker commission. There is no place for this shame.”


‘Dead’ living people in the voter list! Mamata Banerjee voter list allegation

The main focus of the Chief Minister’s attack today was the issue of the cancellation of names in the voter list. Her direct allegation is that many living voters in the state have been deliberately shown as ‘dead’ in the voter list. Referring to the issue as a big conspiracy, she said, “There are many people who are alive but dead in the list.”


‘We are working inch by inch.’

However, the party leader has also made it clear that the Trinamool Congress is not sitting idly by to stop this conspiracy. Praising the work of the party’s grassroots workers and giving a stern warning to the opposition, she said, “Remember, we are working inch by inch. We have identified them (whose names have been omitted) exactly.”


Political Tension Rises Ahead of Elections

According to political circles, this direct attack by the chief minister on the voter list before the elections has taken the conflict between the ruling and opposition camps to a new level.
