Mamata, “The BJP and the Commission are snatching away ordinary people’s right to vote. They are defying the Supreme Court’s verdict.” Taking a swipe, Mamata said the ‘naughty-nasty’ BJP is using a partisan commission to do this. Sending out the message that even if no one else fights, Bengal will fight on the streets, the Trinamool supremo appealed for justice in the people’s court.
After the final SIR list was published, it was found that in Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s current constituency of Bhabanipur, the names of around 47,000 voters had been removed. Mamata and the Trinamool allege that the BJP and the Commission have struck off the names of genuine voters.
