Bengal BJP’s Losses Continue, Tathagata Roy Calls Party ‘A Tottering House’

Veteran BJP leader Tathagata Roy has expressed concerns about the state of the West Bengal BJP, calling it a “tottering house” that relies on blind Hindu support rather than organizational strength.

The BJP’s decline in the state was highlighted by the Trinamool Congress’s (TMC) landslide victory in the November 13 Assembly by-polls, where the TMC won all six seats and increased its margins compared to the 2021 elections.

The BJP’s struggles in West Bengal have been ongoing, with the party losing all four seats in the July 10 by-polls and dropping from 18 to 12 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, with a vote share decline from 40.25% to 38.73%.
