Bengal Professor’s Death Sparks Mystery in BJP-Ruled Uttarakhand

Professor Mainak Pal, a 44-year-old Philosophy professor from Kolkata’s Jadavpur University, was discovered dead in a Lalkuan hotel bathroom with deep cuts on his hands and throat slit. Police suspect suicide.

Pal had traveled to Uttarakhand with friends but decided to return to Kolkata early, citing homesickness for his daughter. Unable to reach him on Friday evening, his family contacted the hotel, leading to the grim discovery.
