Following harassment allegations made by a female journalist, Tanmoy Bhattacharya has been suspended for another six months. The decision was made by the state CPI(M), based on the findings of the party’s internal complaints committee (ICC). Tanmoy had previously been suspended during the investigation, but his suspension was lifted after the committee concluded its inquiry. Sources from Alimuddin Street indicate that the former MLA is now facing ‘punishment’ as per the committee’s report. This decision will be presented during upcoming meetings of the state and central party committees. However, Tanmoy stated on Thursday night that he has not been informed about the ‘punishment’ and plans to travel outside Kolkata.
