Delhi Police Special Cell Busts Pakistan-Linked Terror-Gangster Module, Arrests Three Suspects

New Delhi – The Special Cell of Delhi Police has dismantled a terror-gangster module alleged to be directed from Pakistan, arresting three key operatives and seizing weapons, ammunition and incriminating digital material, officials said on Sunday.

According to police, the module was reportedly run by a Pakistan-based gangster handler named Shahzad Bhatti. The arrested suspects, identified as individuals from Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, were allegedly in regular contact with Bhatti through encrypted social-media and messaging platforms.

During the raids, law-enforcement recovered a semi-automatic pistol, 10 live cartridges, mobile phones containing suspicious chats and reconnaissance videos, and other materials hinting at planned violent attacks across multiple states.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the module had been involved in arranging grenade attacks in Punjab – including one outside a police station at Gurdaspur – and was potentially recruiting youths for further terror operations.

Delhi Police has announced that efforts are underway to trace and apprehend additional operatives spread across several states. The arrested persons are being interrogated while digital evidence is being analysed to map the full extent of the network and likely targets.

Security analysts described the bust as “a significant preventive strike”, noting that the blending of gangster-networks with terror modules backed by foreign handlers represents a growing pattern of hybrid threats. The decision to publicly disclose the operation underscores the urgency and seriousness of the security challenge.
