The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway’s (DHR) toy train service between New Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling resumed on Sunday (November 17) after a four-month suspension due to landslides damaging parts of the tracks. DHR Director Priyanshu confirmed that a successful trial on Wednesday was carried out, followed by a final trial run with a diesel loco and two coaches (last Saturday).
The service, which was suspended on July 5, is crucial for both locals and tourists. The tourism industry has welcomed the development.
