Representatives from multinational tea marketing companies and tea research centers will offer suggestions on how to revive the fortunes of Dooars tea. On November 30, the 150th-anniversary celebration of Dooars tea will take place at Lataguri in Jalpaiguri. The event, organized by local small-scale tea growers, will primarily focus on strategies to bring back the golden days of Dooars tea.
The organizers have shared that key executives from some of the largest tea marketing companies, both domestic and international, will participate in panel discussions. The celebration is divided into two segments. The first will address topics such as cultivation methods and the quality of tea leaves in Dooars. The second segment will focus on marketing strategies. Representatives from the Tea Board, tea research centers, and managing directors of some of the country’s leading plantations will also join the discussions.
