Heartwarming Stories: How Abhishek Banerjee’s SEBAASHRAY Is Changing Children’s Lives in Diamond Harbour!

When little Neha Maji from Hooghly took her first steps, her parents dreamed of a future filled with laughter and play. But their joy turned to fear when they noticed troubling signs in her mobility. Each unsteady step deepened their worry, leaving them desperate for answers but unsure where to turn.

Panic set in as they searched for help—until they learned about Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee’s SEBAASHRAY camp. What seemed like a distant hope quickly became their lifeline, offering not just medical care but the reassurance they desperately needed.

It was later found out that Maji’s restricted mobility was a result of the motor neuron disease SMA Type 3. With little to no resources at their disposal, the parents received assurance from the Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, who pledged full support and assistance for the family. This week, Neha Majhi received advanced treatment and consultation from the topmost doctors in the country at NIMHANS, Bengaluru through Sebaashray’s intervention. Regular physiotherapy was being provided to child through Sebaashray.

Nine-year-old Altaf’s world turned upside down when he needed urgent heart surgery. With his family struggling to cope, help came through Sebaashray’s intervention, ensuring he received the life-saving procedure at JIMS Hospital. Under Abhishek Banerjee’s directive, his family was given full support during this challenging time.

For young Kriti Manna, life had become increasingly difficult due to abnormal lumps on her right side. She was admitted to RG Kar Medical College, where doctors administered a specialised injection as part of her treatment. Her follow-up is set for next month, offering hope for continued recovery.

More than 7.58 lakh people have benefited from Sebaashray health camps in Diamond Harbour in just 51 days since its launch on January 2. Conceptualised by three-time Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee, who has been instrumental in augmenting healthcare services for free, the health camps will continue till March.
