The film stars Indrani Halder, Joy Sengupta, Sudip Mukherjee and Anjana Basu in leading roles. The narrative revolves around a woman, who despite being in love with a lower-middle-class man, is forced under circumstances to marry a wealthy man. Her husband is abusive and subjects her to marital rape frequently. After being subjected to repeated marital rape, she starts living her life on her terms with her poet lover. Indrani Haldar was awarded the best actress award at the Madrid International Film Festival for this film.
