Mouni Roy, who started her acting journey on the small screen and has also worked in several films, captivated audiences with her performance in the television series Naagin. However, before her role in this series, Mouni once believed that her life was coming to an end. Recently, the actress opened up about this in an interview.
Mouni revealed that before working in Naagin, she had gained 30 kilograms of weight and shared the methods she used to lose it. She also mentioned that the idea that simply eating less leads to weight loss is not entirely accurate. In her words, “I tried many things. This was about seven to eight years ago. I used to take painkillers because I had a slip disc issue. Due to my illness, I was bedridden for three months, which caused me to gain 30 kilograms. At that time, I thought my life might have come to an end!”
Mouni shared that during that period, she had completely disappeared from public view. In her words, “No one could see me at that time.” Speaking about her weight loss journey, the actress said, “I used to wonder how I could lose weight. At one point, I stopped taking the medications, and that helped reduce some weight. I also drastically cut down on my food intake, consuming only fruits and vegetable juices. However, my mood was always irritable. Eventually, I realized that this was an unhealthy way to lose weight. I understood that eating is essential. I used to eat a lot earlier — I could finish food meant for three people all by myself. I started controlling that.”
After this, Mouni consulted a nutritionist and began following their advice on diet. Mouni has since worked in films like Brahmastra, Gold, and Made in India.
