The Bengal BJP stood firm amid criticism from the state’s major political parties after Sandip Ghosh and Abhijit Mondal were granted bail in the RG Kar rape and murder case. The outrage followed the CBI’s failure to file charges within the 90-day limit.
Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Mondal, ex-officer-in-charge of Tala police station, received bail after the CBI, reporting to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, missed the deadline. However, Ghosh remains in CBI custody over alleged financial irregularities at the medical college.
