A female reporter from an independent YouTube news channel made a Facebook Live video in which she accused senior CPI-M leader and ex MLA Tanmay Bhattacharya of “sexually inappropriate” behavior during an interview at his residence. She stated that the incident had left her mentally shattered and called for the CPI-M leadership to take action against Bhattacharya. In response, the CPI-M state committee in West Bengal promptly announced his suspension from the party.
