For the first time in West Bengal, Suri Municipality in Birbhum has made it compulsory for all registered e-rickshaws (totos) to display QR codes to enhance traffic safety and organization. Linked to a central server, these QR codes will provide real-time details about the vehicle and its driver, making it easier for passengers, police and officials to verify information and lodge complaints. This initiative is part of the municipality’s broader effort to streamline e-rickshaw operations in Suri town and surrounding rural areas, aiming to ensure safer and more transparent transportation.
